Right to Remain Silent

"... nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself..." - Amendment V 

Good morning folks!

Today we're discussing another right that applies to criminal cases: the right to remain silent.
 
It's quite simple and well known. No one can be forced to give information that may help to condemn 

them. When someone says they "plead the 5th", this is what they're referring to. They don't want to speak 

because what they say can be used against them.
