No Unreasonable Searches And Seizures
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable
searches and seizures, shall not be violated , and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause,
supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or
things to be seized. "- Amendment IV of the U.S. Constitution
Welcome to the fourth amendment! This right states, in other words, that the government cannot send
anyone to dig around and take anything or arrest anyone without a warrant. The warrant can't be any old
piece of paper, in order to be valid it must have a good reason to be issued. There must be evidence and/or
witnesses, and it must specifically state what they plan to do. This right protects people and their property
from unjust seizure.
